Halloween Fun

Wow time flies when your busy working on projects. Halloween themes and colors are my favorite so here is what I've been doing...

This was a kit that I received in my block of the month program. Pattern and fabric was included in this cute little kit.
This was my spin on the same pattern with fabrics from my stash.

I like to make seasonal quilts for my office at work. This was a kit for a wall hanging my Mom gave me. I whipped it up in an afternoon, and binded it the next evening while watching TV.

I worked on a Halloween bag

This is the inside...

And I made a Halloween Box, just for the fun of it...

In between these projects I worked on an antique star quilt that is being quilted so I can bind it in the next week or two. I also put together a baby quilt that is being quilted and will be binded as well. And I started putting together blocks for my version of  "The Grich Quilt".

Fall is in the Air!

I know it's a little early , but  If you live in the Deep South (Alabama), you know that temperatures stay in the 90's-100 through October and later. Yesterday we actually had a cool front move in, we got down to 70's and 80's. I could not resist finishing up a Halloween Mug Rug.

Bat's, Spider's, Dot's, spider web's  and Candy Corn.
I just love Halloween Color's they are so pretty.

Halloween in such a fun Holiday...I work as a  nurse at an elementary  school and I am looking forward to dressing up for Halloween this year. Last year I dressed up as a firefighter and the kid's loved it.

This year I want to be a witch, I found this really great hat...

Now where can I find a really great dress and broom?

Pumpkins Throughout The Year

I started this quilt a few years ago.

I found this Block of the Month and had a GREAT time collecting the blocks before I started piecing the quilt.

There are blocks in this quilt for everyone...Patriotic

Kitchen

Barnyard

Halloween

Flowers

Birds

Bird Houses

bee's

Fall

Extra pumpkins for fun

One that looks like Thanksgiving

And a special one that symbolizes Welcome.

Once I collected the entire group of blocks for the quilt, I set to cutting and sewing. I actually burned up my sweet little Janome Quilting machine. I think I used a tight satin stitch on everything until the poor machine just could not take it any more.
Once I had the machine in for repair, twice, I purchased my new Husqvarna Viking Sapphire 850, and completed the quilt top.

Once I made the large panel for the top of the quilt, I took all of the scrapes and matching fabrics to make the outer design.
Since this was a really large quilt I put it up until I could decide how to quilt the top. Nothing came to mind so I just kept thinking. This quilt meant way to much to just go with a plain top.
Finally I saw a listing for quilting services on eBay. Well even though it was a risk I just had to send this quilt to see if she could do it justice. It took me a little while to get it back, but this was OK...I wanted this quilt to be completed in a special way.
I gave the quilter free styling liberties. And she out did herself.
It is beautiful!

I hope you can see the work and the thought process for this special quilt. Now can I sell it or will I need to hide it away for myself!
