I had to make myself ship this...

I participate in a few Swap-Bot fun exchanges each month. It is so much fun to send goodies and to get surprises. I mailed out this mini-quilt...a nine-patch last week. As I started finishing it up I tried to figure out how I could swap it with something else. The colors just worked so well.

I hope my partner enjoys the pretty blend. Take a look...tell me what you think.

Fall is in the Air!

I know it's a little early , but  If you live in the Deep South (Alabama), you know that temperatures stay in the 90's-100 through October and later. Yesterday we actually had a cool front move in, we got down to 70's and 80's. I could not resist finishing up a Halloween Mug Rug.

Bat's, Spider's, Dot's, spider web's  and Candy Corn.
I just love Halloween Color's they are so pretty.

Halloween in such a fun Holiday...I work as a  nurse at an elementary  school and I am looking forward to dressing up for Halloween this year. Last year I dressed up as a firefighter and the kid's loved it.

This year I want to be a witch, I found this really great hat...

Now where can I find a really great dress and broom?

A Texas Longhorn Quilt

I have put together this beautiful Texas Longhorn Quilt for a friend of my son. He and his brother grew up with my boy's. He contacted me and asked me to make a quilt for a special person in his life. She had made an Auburn University quilt for him and he decided that he wanted her to have a special quilt of her own.

I put together a scrappy quilt that uses a variety of Texas fabrics. I blended the fabrics with black fabrics and then bordered the quilt with cowboy boots. I hope it wasn't to corny that I included Cowboy boots. The fabric blended so well with the colors in the quilt.

It is probably difficult to tell but the quilting on the top is footballs and goal posts. For a football quilt I thought it was perfect.

The boot fabric was also used on the back of the quilt.

I put the quilt in the mail first thing this morning, I can't wait to see how well the quilt goes over. What would your favorite quilt be?

What is your football team... the next football quilt will be a Wisconsin Badger quilt. Blocks are completed and now they need to be assembled.

Are you ready for some Football and Tail gating?

In the GREAT state of Alabama football is everything...you must pick your favorite team. There are several GREAT teams but when picking you have to pick between Auburn and Alabama. At my house it is Auburn all the way, at my brother's Alabama is the favorite. Starting next week every weekend will revolve around YOUR team. You don't plan weddings for these Saturday's if you expect to see a crowd...never make someone pick between a wedding and a football game. Season tickets are to expensive to ask people to pick. I made these cute Checker Board table topper's with tailgating in mind. Adults and kids are alike...a good game of checkers can help pass the time right up to game time!
I am selling these in my etsy shop http://QuiltDailey.Etsy.com
Pick your favorite team and enjoy the football!

Mini-Quilt from Fat Quarter's

Here is the Mini-Quilt I made from the Fat Quarter Pack I purchased with the gift certificate I won.

I love the colors.
These are not the usual blends of colors I pick when I quilt. I do love the look of it though.
Do you have colors that you are drawn to?
Do you know what they are?
I know I lean to fall colors, Oranges, Browns, Rusts, Greens.
I always try to put together a pretty back as well...what do you think? do you go simple or do you want a pretty backing?

Winding Pathway's Quilt

I have enjoyed working with a beautiful Joel Dewberry line called Aviary 2. It has all of my favorite colors. Orange, Brown's, Teal, and Creams. I am calling the pattern of my quilt Winding Pathway's.

I loved the design and the style co much that I made the following mug rug's

This one was entered in a Mug Rug challenge on Facebook at I don't have a problem, I have a well-rounded fabric stash! , her is the information if you would like to participate:
For complete rules and guidelines on how to enter, vote, and win, please visit the Summer Mug Rug Challenge document at https://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=group_105875542805507&view=doc&id=181069895286071. Good luck, and happy creating!

Because I was the first person to post an entry, I won a gift certificate at

so of course I turned right around and ordered these fabrics:

Now what to make? what to make?

But I digress. Here are additional Mug Rugs I have listed at my Etsy Shop.

And while I was on a roll I could not help but make a Mini-Quilt or two....

After all of these items, I'm still not sure I am ready to give up working with these Joel Dewberry fabrics. They are just so beautiful.

Now I have a special order quilt that I must get back to...It's a University of Texas quilt that I am making as a gift for someone to give. I will show it off once I get a little farther along in the process.

A Wonky Cake of my Own

We are getting ready for a Wedding at our house, my son is getting married. I have been wanting to make a cake block to celebrate the occasion. I couldn't find a pattern for my cake so I decided to make my own. The new bride to be has picked Fuchsia, Black and White. I wanted to include all of these colors and I wanted some Zing!

This could be used in so many ways...This could be hung on a wall, used to decorate a table, a signature quilt for a shower or for the wedding.

For this cute little applique piece I used ribbon on the second tier of the cake to really make it jump out at you. I also included some bling...and of coarse I embroidered The Bride and Grooms name and wedding date.

I'm not sure how we are going to use this piece. We will just have to see...

Can't you just vision this for other special occasions?

This can be made for Birthday's, Baby Baby Shower's, Wedding's, Wedding Shower's, Anniversary's or any other Special Occasion.

This Mini Applique block is 20 1/2 X 20 1/2.

But can be made in any size that you can imagine.
