What BEAUTIFUL fabrics that blend so well together....

My oldest son Will and his wife Amber are expecting their first baby (and my first grand baby). I wanted to put together a pretty quilt that could be both a baby quilt and take sweet little Jordan into her first years  as a toddler. As you can guess our new baby is a girl! After much thought I decided on this pattern...

Since we know what our baby is going to be I could not resist putting her name on the quilt...

I made sure to send this quilt out to a fabulous long arm quilter who does beautiful work. Her Company is called The Finishing Touch.

I just love the designs in the quilting. Hearts...

As always I enjoy putting together beautiful fabric for a special quilt...
Now I'm off to make something new...
I'm thinking...

Between Thanksgiving an Christmas things at my house got busy...I started a new job and I had to finish up Christmas gifts. I want to share one of the wonderful Christmas gifts I received from my family.

This is the Accuquilt Go...it is wonderful. You get these really GREAT dies that cuts your fabric to perfection. I have been cutting and playing for the last few days.

I am making a Tumbler quilt...

and I have made perfect Flying Geese with my cutter.

I see endless possibilities

I also spent the day yesterday making Wall Hangings for my office. In my new Job I am an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist. I wanted something that would blend my quilting and my job...

I hope to put these up in my office tomorrow, if I do I will post pictures showing how well they turned out.

You can use these for lip gloss, disk drives, iPod and ear buds, and your emergency money.

I've put together some of your favorite football zippered key fobs.

I had someone deliver this quilt top one day in a bag were it had been put in hopes of one day becoming a quilt. So many times when families are going through a loved ones items after they pass away they find quilt tops that are incomplete. When I see one that needs to be finished I can't wait to see what can be done...This one took a little bit of creative thought.

I wonder if the quilt was never finished because it could not be squared up?
I studied this quilt 5 or 6 times before I decided the best fix for it was to applique the star on muslin whole cloth. It is not the normal way to finish a star like this, but This star was really calling to me...

Once I had it pinned to the fabric I had to fold and tuck some area of the quilt so it would lay correctly.
Once pinned and tucked and Appliqued, I had a longarm quilter do a beautiful pattern over the quilt.

I just love the way this quilt turned out.
Do you have a quilt that needs to be finished and the pattern has disappeared somewhere along the way.  Don't give up on it, there is a way to put your quilt together. You would not want to lose a beautiful piece of your past without a fight.

Halloween Fun

Wow time flies when your busy working on projects. Halloween themes and colors are my favorite so here is what I've been doing...

This was a kit that I received in my block of the month program. Pattern and fabric was included in this cute little kit.
This was my spin on the same pattern with fabrics from my stash.

I like to make seasonal quilts for my office at work. This was a kit for a wall hanging my Mom gave me. I whipped it up in an afternoon, and binded it the next evening while watching TV.

I worked on a Halloween bag

This is the inside...

And I made a Halloween Box, just for the fun of it...

In between these projects I worked on an antique star quilt that is being quilted so I can bind it in the next week or two. I also put together a baby quilt that is being quilted and will be binded as well. And I started putting together blocks for my version of  "The Grich Quilt".

I had to make myself ship this...

I participate in a few Swap-Bot fun exchanges each month. It is so much fun to send goodies and to get surprises. I mailed out this mini-quilt...a nine-patch last week. As I started finishing it up I tried to figure out how I could swap it with something else. The colors just worked so well.

I hope my partner enjoys the pretty blend. Take a look...tell me what you think.

Fall is in the Air!

I know it's a little early , but  If you live in the Deep South (Alabama), you know that temperatures stay in the 90's-100 through October and later. Yesterday we actually had a cool front move in, we got down to 70's and 80's. I could not resist finishing up a Halloween Mug Rug.

Bat's, Spider's, Dot's, spider web's  and Candy Corn.
I just love Halloween Color's they are so pretty.

Halloween in such a fun Holiday...I work as a  nurse at an elementary  school and I am looking forward to dressing up for Halloween this year. Last year I dressed up as a firefighter and the kid's loved it.

This year I want to be a witch, I found this really great hat...

Now where can I find a really great dress and broom?
