I worked on a Quilt Top last week that I REALLY love, I am usually a very traditional style type quilter, this one is an Amy Butler pattern called Belle. I had a variety of fabrics that I wanted use in my process. This quilt will finish out close to 47" X 60", and it will look great (if I do say so myself).  I already have fabric to do this quilt in a pink, black and bright green version. With the variety of bright bold colors, this is a very happy quilt. Can't you just picture this quilt would as a great children's quilt, a lap quilt that you could curl up in a chair with, or draped on a window seat or favorite rocker. I have found a backing fabric that will be perfect. I should be able to get started on the backing in the next 3 weeks.
I know that time will drag by but working at two jobs, both part time, will take up a great deal of time. It seems that working occasionally at two different places is harder than when I had a full time position. I think its because I work different times and different shifts.
I would love to know what some of your opinions are,

What would you do, stick with the traditional?

or go forward with these big bold prints?

Tooth Fairy Boxes

I just returned from the post office. Someone in Idaho purchased 100 Tooth Fairy Boxes for their Dental Office. How GREAT is that. What a PERFECT idea. I had not thought about these boxes for a while. When the children were little I can remember the Sterling Silver ones, which were pretty, but pricey as well. I shipped out the following styles...if you know someone who might be interested in these let me know. They are really cute ideas. The cost of each box is $4.00, but I will give quantity pricing. just email or convo me from my etsy site http://quiltdailey.etsy.com

When placing an order you can go with, Boy, Girl, or Mixed.

All About Baskets

I posted a basket block picture a few weeks ago. I think you should know a little bit about the block. I am re posting along with the picture of the project it goes with. www.stitchinheaven.com have block party's from time to time, this is the summer Spring Fling party block program that is made with the Moda Blush fabric. It is really coming along great. I have completed 6 blocks and I am waiting on the other 6. They are coming two at a time every other week.
The pattern is pictured with a different fabric family, which is really pretty, but I like the Moda Blush Fabric. I have not been able to order the finishing kit for the project but I am saving all my scraps and I hope to get the kit before the project ends. Working part time makes it difficult to get the kit right now. Here are the 6 completed blocks including the 1st block again...

I didn't mention the absolute best part, these blocks are a great buy at $5.00 each. Fun project, easy to follow project, and Great pricing.
As I go I am placing my pattern and color sheets in a handy sleeve this makes it easy to find the whole project and I have a tendency to pull all the pages out and envision the process over and over. Once I complete this project I will put the pages in a loose leaf notebook.
I have done this with all of my block of the month patterns over the years. I've gone back a few times with other fabric waves and put together my own block of the month (personal use only) project. Sometimes as with this block, I want to see it finished out in a different way. I have never been disappointed.
